Thomas Weir is an artist living in Edmonton, Alberta. In 2026, he had a solo exhibition at the Society of Northern Alberta printmakers Gallery in Edmonton titled "AULD". This exhibition ran from January 17, 2026, to February 21, 2026 and followed the completion of his six-month residency at the printmaking facility and workshop. For this residency, he received his first fully funded Project Grant from the Alberta Foundation for the Arts. In 2024 through 2025, Thomas was the artist-in-residence at the McLuhan house in Edmonton, and the residency concluded with a DIY exhibition titled "OBSCURAS", developed and held in June 2025.
In 2026, Thomas will be one of the artists in Residence at the Point aux Pine Acres facility in Strathcona County. Thomas is a 2023 graduate of the University of Guelph MFA program in studio art and a 2020 graduate of the University of Alberta BFA program in art and design. And in 2019, he was the recipient of the Queen's Golden Jubilee Scholarship for Visual Arts, awarded by the Government of Alberta.
He currently works as an exhibition technician at the Art Gallery of Alberta in Edmonton.
